Thu 25 Sep 2008: New Zealand Manuka Honey

Joseph G. Marsan, M.D. from the University of Ottawa, Canada has just released research that shows honey could be used in preventing sinusitis. In fact the research shows that manuka honey is the most effective of honeys tested in fighting bacterial infections. Marsden is quoted as saying that "...the powerful killing action (of manuka honey) on these bacterial biofilms...is far superior to the most powerful anti-microbials used in medicine today". The full article can be viewed on the Washington Post site:

This study again demonstrates that certain honeys specifically Manuka Honey are more effective than most commercial anti-biotics prescribed. Another reason to consume natural honey for both preventative and curative health.
